The first roots
Acquisition of Quintas & Irmão, Lda., which achieves turnover equivalent to five million US dollars in its first six months of activity.
The story now brought together under the Grupo ANP name began in 1991 with the acquisition of Quintas & Irmão, Lda. In its first six months of activity, the company achieved turnover equivalent to five million US dollars, beginning a journey that would extend across different sectors.
In 1998, Alexandre Portugal and Neusa Portugal established Africana Distribuidora, Lda., to distribute magazines and newspapers in Angola. Its commitment to the national press, particularly Jornal de Angola, took shape through its partnership with Edições Novembro, E.P.: in the first six months, 22,000 copies were sold each day.
The growth of this activity paved the way for new investments. In 2005, Socinger — Sociedade de Investimentos Gerais, Lda., was established to acquire equity interests and property and develop related projects. That same year, Cruising, Lda., was founded in Portugal as a trading company to support Africana Distribuidora and provide supplies and logistical support for Socinger projects in Angola.
Skyna Hotel Luanda began operating with a soft opening on 15 November 2009. In 2010, Fábrica de Vidros Kikolo — FVK was inaugurated in Luanda. These projects established Socinger’s presence in hospitality and glass processing. The Skyna and FVK brands are owned by Socinger.
Diversification continued in 2010, when Africana Tours began operating in travel and car rental in Angola.
In 2013, the connection with Portugal took on a new dimension. The acquisition of Telrua, S.A., which already had a hotel project, enabled further growth in this sector, culminating in the opening of Skyna Hotel Lisboa in 2015. Socibwana Imobiliária, Lda., the company that owns the Porto Gardens brand, was also established in 2013.
In 2021, SCL — Serviços Clínicos de Luanda began its journey, extending activities into healthcare. Focused on laboratory services, institutional cooperation and professional training, the project values scientific knowledge and technical capacity building in Angola.
The launch of Porto Gardens in 2026 represents a new stage in property development in Portugal. This residential development in Porto, whose brand belongs to Socibwana, continues a journey of investment connecting the two countries.
Today, the Grupo ANP name brings together companies, brands and projects with distinct activities and a shared history. From distribution to industry, hospitality to mobility, and healthcare to property development, this journey is built through people, partnerships and the ability to develop new opportunities in Angola and Portugal.
